I have been using the Oracle Angler paddle from Adventure Technology since December. I can now say, without doubt, this is the most efficient and performance friendly paddle that I have ever used. Just as the brand beckons, it is chiseled from the latest technology on the market and riddled with performance enhancing features.
This blade is engineered with less dihedral which allows me to push more water without fluttering, allowing me to get to my fishing spots quicker and more efficiently. I am extremely hard on my paddles and the Dynell blade edging allows me to feel more confident when using my paddle to push off rocks or anything else I may need to correct my position.
Another cool feature that is included with this paddle is the line hook built into the blade. I will be the first to admit that I never found this to be useful or necessary, until it was useful and necessary, and now I find myself using it all the time. I am a huge square bill fan and frequently use the line hook to dislodge my lure from tree stumps, rocks, or anything else I might get snagged on. I find that this paddle especially useful with the ability to adjust the length by 10 cm with the extended ferrule. This option has become key when switching between various kayaks with varied seat heights. Adventure Technology has added a foam core to this blade, which greatly increases its buoyancy. This forces the paddle to the surface after a paddle stroke. What I’ve found is that over time and distance my fatigue is lessened because the paddle is assisting on every stroke.
I have been searching for a long time for a kayak paddle that can do it all and is specifically catered towards kayak anglers. My kayak is the vessel that keeps me afloat but my paddle is my motor, and that is every bit as important if not more than the kayak that it’s propelling. Adventure Technology has taken this paddle to the next level and you should consider it the next time you’re in the market.
