Well 2015 has come and gone, and as I reflect on the year that I've had I can't help but think about the year to come. Last year held a lot of ups and downs, and left me with experiences that I feel that I can draw upon for 2016. I had to learn to find a new normal after the loss of my mother and we proudly welcomed our son, Jack, into our family. That's about as low and high as a year can get.
I am extremely proud to have completed another year as a member of the Wilderness Systems Kayaks Pro-Staff. I am so grateful for the opportunities to learn, contribute, and dive farther into the bowels of this business. Through my connections at Wilderness Systems I was fortunate enough to partner up with the talented craftsmen at Impulse Fishing Rods. I have never been happier or more successful on the water since partnering with the guys over at Impulse. I'm grateful for the various companies that I am talking to for a 2016 partnership, and I look forward to working closely with you.

My most important 2016 goal in my kayak fishing to to become more proficient and to grow as a writer. I'm coming up on my 3 year anniversary of Yak Smack and I'm very proud of where it's at. I plan to double down on my commitment to my blog as well as extend my reach into more notable publications. Throughout the last three years my writing has proven therapeutic and entertaining foe me. Yak Smack continues to grow in readership and I sincerely thank everyone that pays a visit to my humble creation. Here's to tight lines and good health for the year to come.
